Dünya Nefroloji Derneği bursu ile nefroloji ihtisası için 2007-2008 arasında Yale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nde klinik fellow olarak çalıştı.

2010’da Doçent, 2015 yılında Profesör unvanını aldı.

Nefroloji alanında yapmış olduğu çalışmalar nedeniyle 2013’te Avrupa Nefroloji Derneği Seçkin Akademisyen Üyeliği’ne ve 2018’de Amerika Nefroloji Derneği Seçkin Akademisyen Üyeliği’ne seçildi (Distinguished Fellow of European Renal Associaton; FERA; Distinguished Fellow of American Society of Nephrology, FASN).

2014’te nefroloji alanında yapmış olduğu çalışmalar nedeni ile TÜBİTAK Bilim Teşvik Ödülü’nü kazandı.

Nefroloji alanında 350’dan fazla makalesi bulunuyor, birçok derginin yayın kurulu üyesi.

Avrupa Nefroloji Derneği dergisi olan Clinical Kidney Journal dergisinin Kardiyovasküler Hastalık ve Hipertansiyon bölüm editörü. Birçok uluslararası önemli derginin bilimsel yayın kurulu üyesi.

2021 yılında böbrek hastalıkları, hipertansiyon, böbrek nakli, kardiyovasküler hastalık alanlarında yapmış olduğu çalışmalar nedeni ile Avrupa Bilim ve Sanat Akademisi üyeliğine seçilmiştir.
